“I graduated from SDSU in 2004 with a degree in Education and a minor in photography. For my first two years of teaching, I was a shared K-12 art teacher with some small schools around the Mitchell area. In 2007, my husband, Aaron, and I moved to Pierre, SD. I taught art and digital photography at Riggs High School in Pierre until May of 2012. During the summer of 2012, my family and I moved to Wessington Springs, SD. My husband was offered a wonderful job opportunity which allowed him to be home more with his family. We eagerly accepted this opportunity as family is the most important thing to us. I currently teach photography online to high school students through Mid-Central Co-op (DIAL) as well as teaching 7-12 art in Wessington Springs, SD.

In December of 2008, my husband and I welcomed our first-born daughter, Alexis, into our lives! As of 2014, she is 5 years old and continues to surprise her dad and I with what she can do and learn! She loves horses, puppies, kitties, being outside, her toys, and everything else that goes with a little girl lifestyle! I bet she would just wish that Mommy wouldn’t take so many pictures of her!

In March of 2011, we were blessed with the birth of our 2nd beautiful daughter, Lily. Lily’s first few months of life were not easy ones, as she was born with a birth defect called Duodenal Artesia. When Lily was just 7 days old, she had major surgery, saving her life. We were blessed to have very wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff members at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls during our 19 day stay in the hospital. We were also fortunate to have the Ronald McDonald House to stay while we were there. I was so touched by the care and support given to my husband, my (then) 2-year-old Alexis, and I that I have chosen the Ronald McDonald House as one of the charities that AR Photography donates to. Thanks to the care, prayers, love, and support given to us by family, friends, and medical staff, Lily is now a growing and thriving 3 year old! She is such a blessing to our family and we can’t imagine our lives without her!

It's not hard to tell ... I love what I do! I am very blessed to be able to share my passion of photography with my students during the day and capture life’s special moments for people in the summer and on weekends! I enjoy working with teenagers as they keep me feeling young and on the modern trend! I also love being a mom as I believe children are true gifts from God! Their excitement and pure joy about life is very refreshing!"
